The G-Class needs no introduction. The unmistakable sound of the doors, the exceptional exhaust note and the central locking system that makes you jump every time you press the remote control are just some of the features that make this vehicle a legend.
Over the years, it has made its mark on the most exclusive streets. In fact, it’s no longer very surprising to come across one.
However, lesser-known versions have become extremely rare, such as the short or cabriolet one.
Reserved for connoisseurs, these models are unfortunately no longer produced.
Here we are lucky enough to have a G400 cdi equipped with a V8 developing 560 Nm of torque, making it disconcertingly easy to move around. Having left the factory in 2006, it was one of the last cars to be delivered with this engine before the downsizing of the 320 cdi that succeeded it. This engine is very pleasant to drive, and is best appreciated at low and medium revs. There’s no need to rev it up, and its torque makes all the difference compared with a much less linear 500, for example.
Our model has had one and only one owner, who has taken great care of it since it was put on the road, as can be seen from its cosmetic and mechanical condition. Its very respectful use has enabled it to be perfectly preserved, as it has not suffered any mechanical damage such as a gearbox change or other injection problems that are often common on 400s.
The refined interior is in perfect working order. On the outside, with its iridium grey metallic colour, running boards and 18′ wheels characteristic of the V8, it will appeal to die-hard fans of the model.
Its rarity – model, equipment, configuration – its impeccable condition, its unique owner, its maintenance history, its low mileage and its French provenance are all arguments that make this G unique.
A very fine collector’s item.
We remain at your disposal for any further information.
